Q?

What is included in an MOT

A.

The MOT is a standard test required to ensure your vehicle meets the minimum requirements to be safe on the road as defined by the Ministry of Transport at the time of the test.

It is ONLY a test on your car.  No work / servicing / repairs is ever undertaken as a part of the test itself.  There may be recommended work, or if it fails, required work to be done in order to reach the minimum safety standard.  But a common mis-conception is that when your car has been MOT'd that is has be serviced and is good for another year... this is not true!   You still need to look after your car at the manufacturers recommended service intervals in order to keep your car in good working order.
